Items added to your cart will remain available to you for 30 minutes. When 30 minutes has been reached the item will disappear from your cart and will be made available to others. To secure a hank of yarn you must go through the checkout process.
Payments are to be made through PayPal only and at the time of purchase. PayPal is a safe reliable payment provider. You do not need a PayPal account to use it. Simply follow the instructions to log in if you do have an account or checkout as a guest with a credit or debit card. We do not collect or store any of your payment details here at Fated Yarns. This is encrypted and stored by PayPal only. Please read the PayPal User Agreement for more information.

All parcels are sent with the Royal Mail. Royal Mail will carry out the delivery to you if you are in the UK. However, if you are abroad the final delivery will be made depending on whom Royal Mail has a contract with in your country.
Yes and no. Orders will be sent to the shipping address you provide during checkout and will be compared to the one provided by PayPal. If the order has already been shipped then no, the delivery address cannot be changed. You, the buyer, are responsible for ensuring the correct delivery address is given to us at Fated Yarns. If the order has not been shipped then please email us to let us know. We will cancel and refund the order, and you can place it again with the correct postal address. Under no circumstances will Fated Yarns accept responsibility for packages which are lost or delayed due to incorrect address information, nor will refunds be provided in this situation.
The delivery address provided on the order form, and provided by PayPal will be compared for each order. If they are different the order will be cancelled and refunded, and you will need to place a new order with matching delivery addresses. You will receive an email notification from us advising why the order was cancelled.
I aim to dispatch all yarn orders within 2 working days via Royal Mail from the UK. Saturdays, Sundays, and UK Bank Holidays are not classed as working days. Any unforeseen delays outside of this will be notified to you by email. Any expected delays, such as a family holiday, will be displayed at the top of the website.
Please note that due to COVID-19 not only are the postal services themselves having to deal with a higher workload and fewer staff, but international flights are also reduced. All of this means delivery times are significantly longer than usual, with an average of approximately 2 weeks extra!
If you are within the UK, Royal Mail advises that 1st Class parcels are delivered within 3 working days and 2nd Class parcels within 5 working days. This is in addition to the processing time above of 2 working days. For all other countries, it is very much dependant on the final delivery company in your country, but for EU & Europe approximately 1-2 weeks, and all other International deliveries 1-3 weeks.
Please note that due to COVID-19 please add approximately 2 weeks to these time frames.
If you do not receive your parcel within 10 working days in the UK, 20 working days in Europe, or 25 working days for the rest of the world from the date of dispatch please contact me. Prior to this time frame, Royal Mail will not consider a parcel as lost and there is nothing we can do either. Please also note local mail issues, such as strikes by mail workers and airport staff, can also cause extra delays.
All yarn buyers outside of the EU are responsible for the import fees charged in your country. This includes, but is not limited to, customs fees, excise fees, VAT fees, and administration/processing fees. This includes European countries who are not in the EU. The declarations I make to customs will be accurate to the best of my knowledge, and I will not make a false declaration. Requests to do so will result in your order being cancelled and refunded. In order to get your parcel you will need to pay the import fees as per the details you receive on the invoice/card from the customs/postal service. UK and EU buyers are exempt from customs charges. Note that after Brexit buyers within the EU must be prepared to receive customs and tax charges.
Buyers have the right to cancel their order at any time, and for any reason, up to and within 14 calendar days of receipt of the parcel. Please contact me within this time frame if you wish to do so. Once I have received notification of the return the buyer has within 14 calendar days to return the item. Any items for return must be done so in their original unused condition. You may examine an item to the same degree you would be allowed in a brick and mortar shop, but beyond that, the item loses value and I cannot resell these items. As an example, I cannot resell anything that has been exposed to smoke, washed, or has been partially used. Return postage must be paid for by the buyer and will not be refunded.
Refunds for the yarn will be refunded when the yarn has been received back here at Fated Yarns. Postage will be refunded if the whole order is returned, but not for a partial return. Your best option is to send anything back on a tracked service so you know when this has happened. Refunds will be processed within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods back. I will always aim to do this sooner though. The refund will be through the original way paid – PayPal.
Honestly, I’m afraid you can’t. I take all photos outside in the natural daylight as I believe this gets the best accuracy for colour. The colour is the best that I can get to match on my screen. All computer screens vary, even those of the same make due to tweaks that can be made to saturation and brightness for example.
This is a decision only you can make knowing the severity of your own allergies. No one in this house smokes, and neither do any of our guests (if the odd one does they are made to go outside rain or shine). Our cat passed away in 2018, and we regularly visit a home with a dog. Our cat never rolled around on the yarn, but if you have a pet you know how far stray hairs can travel and stick around for! Please bear this in mind if you do have any allergies.
