So this one was a bit of a rescue mission. My intention was to create a colourway of red, white, blue, and a bit of gold. To represent the success that Britain is having at the 2021 Olympics. However, it all went horribly wrong. The colours all bled into each other and there was almost no white. So I threw it in a pot of bright pink (it’s a pretty good rescue colour) and voila!
Meet your new favourite DK weight yarn! Made with high quality 100% Superwash Merino Wool from non-mulesing flocks, this yarn works up to most standard double knit/ DK weight knitting and crochet patterns. The merino is also one of the finer fibres of wool, which makes this an excellent all-rounder for everyday wear, but also provides exceptional comfort when worn next to the skin.
Wool itself has many benefits already. It is fire-resistant and will naturally extinguish a flame. It is breathable and naturally wicks moisture away from the skin, creating a temperature-regulating effect. Wool is a naturally renewable source, with sheep growing a new fleece to be shorn each year, as well as being biodegradable and compostable at the end of its life cycle, putting nutrients back into the ground. It is also resistant to odour, soiling, and water/spills, saving you the costs and time of regular washing. As a bonus the superwash treatment makes it ideal for a quick (but gentle) machine wash.
